Connie - I was also a big fan of your father. I heard him mostly when he and his band played at the Lewiston Roundup. I was new to the LC Valley. I lived in Clarkston and worked in Colton so I also listened to his show as I made the morning commute. One song that I especially enjoyed was his recording of Boomer Dog and Me. I found it to be so poignant and have tried many times to find how I could get a copy. I cannot find any record of Margaret Lindsey online in this area.
I would be so grateful if you could put me on track of some source of this recording.
Thanks.

My dad came up in the railroad from a California bridge gang in probably the mid forties. He worked as an electrician(traveling of course) for the next 44 years and hated every minute of it apparently.

But what he didn't hate at all was playing and singing Jimmie Rogers music. Little ol' guitar about like you always see JR with, this great baritone voice that went from rumble and roar to doing a tenor lead vocal, all the while deliberately picking the tune down with a nickel. That's Right, a nickel. It was a pretty cool sound.

Later on Dad actually got some Jimmie Rogers Lps but by that time it was 1966 and I was into a different sound.

Thanks for sharing Jimmie Rogers with us, Greg
